Skiing & Snowboarding

Ardenbeg is 35 minutes from both The Lecht and Cairngorm Ski areas, offering some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Scotland. The majority of our instruction takes place on Cairngorm, although The Lecht is great for a change of scenery.

Ardenbeg has an excellent drying room so you can start every day warm and dry.

Ardenbeg Outdoor Centre has skis, boots and poles for hire and we can arrange tuition, ski passes and snowboard hire. Take a look at the availability page for details.

The staff at Ardenbeg are happy to share their local knowledge to help you decide which ski area to go to.

The Season

The skiing season runs from mid January to late April although more often we're skiing by December and often into May!

The Lecht has dry ski matting allowing some dry slope skiing during the summer. The forests around Glenmore Lodge and Grantown, sometimes, hold enough snow for cross-country skiing.

Off Piste

Ski mountaineering over virgin snow is a fantastic sensation.

The Cairngorm plateau provides a reliable snow holding area and the tops make for a good day's touring. Staff at Ardenbeg are happy to advise on skiing routes in the Cairngorm area.
