Visitor Centres and Attractions
The Highlands is one of the most popular areas of Scotland - with its
breathtaking scenery, natural forest and woodland and unique wildlife,
not to mention its famous hospitality, it is easy to see why so many
people from all over the world come to the region. To enhance your experience
and further your enjoyment, we are also blessed with many and varied
visitor attractions, covering all aspects of life in the Highlands and
indeed Scotland. From wildlife parks to cultural and historic museums,
mountain experiences to theatre productions, all are perfect for a day
out or to compliment a stay in the highlands. Below we have listed but
a few of the many visitor attractions in the region and if one that

Rothiemurchus (featured in BBC Springwatch)
Rothiemurchus lies at the heart of the Cairngorm mountains in the Highlands
of Scotland, which have been proposed for consideration as a World Heritage

Glenmore
Visitor Centre
Glenmore Visitor Centre was re-opened in November 1996 after extensive
upgrading. Inside, there is now a forest shop, cafe, toilets and an
audio-visual presentation and displays about the native pinewoods and
the work being carried out to restore them. The centre is open every
day (except Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years day) from 9:00am
until 5:00pm. Our staff will be on hand to provide information about
the Forest Park and the recreational facilities it holds. more

Cairngorm
Mountain
CairnGorm Mountain offers visitors of all ages and abilities a unique
opportunity to enjoy a mountain experience in complete comfort and safety.
The funicular railway takes you up to 1097m where the Top Station houses
the UK's highest, award-winning, restaurant; The Shop@TheTop and the

Lecht
The Lecht is at 2090 feet above sea level amid the beauty of the Eastern

Reindeer Centre
The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd are Britain's only herd of reindeer, found
free ranging in the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. These extremely

Highland Folk Museum
The Highland Folk Museum, Kingussie and Newtonmore, invites you to enter
the World of the Highlander - to see, touch, smell and feel the atmosphere
as you walk through the material remains of 400 years of Highland life

Grantown
Museum
The true value of a museum is to give an awareness of our roots, enabling
us to understand where we are now. Without memory and a sense of belonging,
our lives have no meaning. For Grantown, this memory begins in 1765.
Grantown Museum tells the story of the town’s beginnings and is
a source of great pride to the people of Grantown. The museum was awarded
‘Commended’ in the Scottish Museum of the Year Awards 1999.

Speyside
Heather Centre
A multi-award winning Visitor Attraction run by David and Betty Lambie
and their two sons Craig and Iain. The Lambies and their friendly, helpful
staff are pleased to welcome you and will do all that is necessary to
make your visit to the Centre an enjoyable one. The directors and
the Centre have appeared frequently on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 Television
programmes.
Revack Estate
Visitor attraction set in 350 acres of outstanding scenery, Walled garden,
Ornamental lochs, 10 miles of walks and trails, Garden centre, Gift
shop and Restaurant. Rich in wildlife. Open: 7 days, 9.30am-5pm.
Landmark Centre
The attractions include our Wildwatercoaster, a runaway Raft Ride for
all ages in all weathers; the Red Squirrel Nature Trail with Treetop
Trail and wildlife feeding area;'Ant City', a giant adventure playground;the
Pinnacle climbing wall; electric mini-cars; remote controlled trucks;
a working steam powered Sawmill; Clydesdale Horse demonstrations; giant
viewing tower; fun Forest Maze;Microworld exhibition; Shop, Restaurant
